BARDEN LAKE
A large mixed fishery of around 25 acres, this gravel pit has become a Mecca for carp anglers. The head of large carp is phenomenal, many anglers have caught well over 100 different doubles each, in a season, mainly twenties and thirties with the occasional 40lb. There are specimen tench and bream into double figures, enormous nets of bream (well over 100lbs) are regularly taken. The large roach and rudd are more elusive, but dedication can produce spectacular results. One day ticket angler had thirty roach in one session, three of them exceeded 2lb. Perch and pike also show at times and will respond well to a noisy plug.
