Barden Lake

A large mixed fishery of around 25 acres, this gravel pit has become a Mecca for Carp anglers. There is a good head of large Carp with fish in excess of 45lbs. There is a restocking plan in place with a good number of new fish to over 20lb being introduced in February 2023.  There are specimen Tench and Bream into double figures, enormous nets of Bream (well over 100lbs) have been caught and individual fish have been recorded to over 19lb. The large Roach and Rudd are more elusive, but dedication can produce spectacular results. One day ticket angler had thirty Roach in one session, three of them exceeded 2lb. Perch also show at times and will respond well to a noisy plug. Pike have been caught to over 30lb with a good head of twenty pounders present.
